The challenge

Grizzly’s Custom Bikes is a specialist Harley Davidson garage in Folkestone that had changed hands. As a result, the new owners wanted to give the brand a change in identity, and the website a change in direction. The old site was a distributor ecommerce site, but with several thousand products it had become too much for them to maintain. Grizzly’s asked us to build them a new website to reflect their new look-and-feel, and to highlight their various services which weren’t referenced on the old website.

Bringing the brand to life

After changing hands, Grizzly’s wanted to refresh the brand to give it a new aesthetic. The new branding had a cool, edgy and minimalist style which we translated onto the website to bring the brand to life online.

The new website is much cleaner and easier to navigate, giving space to each of Grizzly’s different services which weren’t listed on the old site.

Improving the user journey

The old Grizzly’s website was bloated, difficult to maintain with thousands of products which made it time expensive for the team to make any content or image updates. The old website was using Magento, wasn’t optimised for mobile or tablet users, and was not secure.

We built them a new fully responsive WordPress website using our easy-to-use flexible template, making content and image updates less time intensive. As a result of the new, less bloated site, the site speed has improved by almost 50%. The new Grizzly’s website also achieved a reduction in bounce rate for mobile users by 19% and tablet users by 29%.

Driving engagement

The Grizzly’s team hold a lot of specialist Harley Davidson knowledge, so we created an ‘advice’ section on the website for them to write up useful guides and articles for Harley enthusiasts, optimised for keywords and search terms. As a result, the advice section of the site is seeing most of the traffic coming from organic searches, with users staying on these pages for 29% longer than the rest of the site.
