The brief

Thoroughbred Owner Breeder is a national magazine and the official publication of the Racehorse Owners Association and Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association. Their old WordPress website had an outdated print focussed content experience, but contained a huge volume of valuable industry-leading articles that needed to be preserved carefully to avoid losing their SEO value.

As WordPress experts, we were able to plan together with our client to totally redesign the look and usability of the site, without affecting the structure of the existing content which can affect SEO value.

Our results

Working from the existing WordPress database (composed of many hundreds of articles), we created an entirely new bespoke website design and user experience.

We used Owner Breeder’s website analytics (data on how their customers were using the site) to inform our recommendations. Since launching the site, site performance shows:

  • Tripled visitors – mobile friendly digital content, a focussed user experience and modern visual design quickly achieved and exceeded their goals to attract more users to the site.
  • Increased international users – migration to a .com domain and improved structure aimed at international users has achieved their goal of broadening reach to new markets outside the UK.
